OLLECTION. (TOO NUMEROUS TO COUNT THEM ALL) MAINLY VINTAGE THIMBLES - PORCELAIN, METAL, WOOD, GLASS, PLASTIC, ETC. PLUS VINTAGE PIN CUSHIONS, BOOKS, AND OTHER SEWING ACCESSORIES.
.  Cleaning out garage. My girlfriend and I came across a huge collection of metal, wood, glass, even stone and leather thimbles and sewing accessories collected by her mother-in-law and late husband.
Some of the thimbles are collector sets.  Some are adorned with stones (real or fake We don't know).  Some are in the shape of animals or people. Some commemorate events, people, historic sites, geography etc.  Also books, stands, pin cushions, and miscellaneous sewing accessories.  We've looked up some of the  thimbles on eBay and they have real collector value!
We don't know anything about thimbles, but with this collection you could easily make money reselling the collection in pieces If you have the time and energy to do the research (we don't).
Would be a great collection for someone starting out, making you an instant thimble veteran!! Or someone who has a collection that wants to add some unique pieces and sell the rest.  A collectors club could buy for its members and hold its own in house auction!  Would also make a unique display for a school, college, or museum that has fashion design department!!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well then I have a small novel's worth! Plenty of pictures!!  What's in the pictures is exactly what you'll get.  Look carefully. We have tried to sort them by color gold or silver or material (leather, plastic  porcelain, etc.,) but cannot guarantee what each thimble is made of, it's just our best uneducated guess. We will try to answer any questions you have, but again we know nothing about thimbles, sewing, metallurgy, or antiques.
Everything was packed carefully and is ready to go.    (Please note item was previously sold and returned due to some items being broken) Items have been repackaged to insure no breakage.  So we are offering them again in case any other buyers are interested.
We have enjoyed looking at the collection reminiscing about the history of the items and their artistry.  We hope that whoever gets this set will enjoy it also, and please feel free to drop us a note letting us know what you did with it.
